Cable Internet Speed - Need More or Need to Change My Config in Azureus? I'm currently paying $50 a month for 4 Mb Cable Broadband and for $15 more I can get moved up to 5Mb. I'm currently using Azarues for downloads and only getting about 8-18 Kbs download rate, while at my friend's house, I get up to 120 Kbs. I don't know what their speed is, but I was wondering if the extra 1 Mb for $15 extra would be worth it and would give me my needed dl speed. Or, if not, what's wrong? Is my router blocking signal from Azareus, even though the NAT comes back as OK? I'm getting 4mb on an Internet Speed Test online, but the downloads stink.

Internet speed test shows good speed but my internet is actually slow and "bumpy"? I have a wireless router but my computer is connected directly to the router, its a cable modem, if the speed test shows the speed I'm paying for (supposedly) then why is my connection bad? its slow, takes too much time to load pages, and I often have to refresh or click "try again" to get the page to show up, I use firefox.....could it be my router is old?
I wanna test the speed of my connection? I'm looking for a uk site to test my broadband speed, i've tried a couple but with staggeringly different results, depending on which phone company is backing the website... eg, my BT test told me i had a speed which i was happy with, while other tests show i had a slow speed. just want to confirm that the fastest speeds would be with an ethernet cable plugged in instead of using the wireless? Cheers in advance, Many happy returns!

DSL VS Comcast Cable? I currently have the 6mbps Comcast package but when I do a speed test i get 20mbps? Why is that? Oh and I'm switching over to Oplink DSL 6.0 MBPS. Is 6.0 mbps DSL good? What about for online gaming on the PS3 via PSN? I'm switching even though I get good speeds due to Comcast having outages in my area just about everyday, horrible customer service and its about $50 when I can get 6.0 mbps DSL from my local provider for about $35
Why is my cable internet speed spastic? I have the 6MB cable internet package but recently its been crappy. When I test it with the Speakeasy Speed Test ( http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ ), the needle on the meter goes up then down, up then down, up then down-like someone revving a car motor. It used to just fly right up to almost 6MB & hold steady but now it's like I said... Most of the time when I start the test, it shoots up to 6MB but then it plummets down to about 3MB then revs up to 3.5, then drops to about 2.5, then revs up to 3MB, then drops to 2MB and revs up to 2.5MB, etc........... Whats up and how do I fix it? Thanx!

Cable internet speed problem? I have cable internet and I used to test my speed at about 5500 kbps plus consistently, but over the past few days it's been much, much slower (and spastic). I can test it 3 times and I'll get 800 kbps the 1st time, 4000 kbps the 2nd and 1400 the 3rd time. What can cause this? I test it with NOTHING else running. Please advise-thanx! And sometimes I have to stop & reload pages to get them to move at all....
How do I increase my Internet speed? According to my Internet provider, I pay for 32 mbit/s but when I do a speed test it only reaches 11-12 mbit/s. I have tried a wireless connection and a wired connection with an ethernet cable but the speed is still the same. What can I do to reach at least 20 mbit/s, maybe more?
Is this a fast connection speed? Time Warner Cable speed test Download 3910 kbps (488.8KB/sec transfer rate). Upload 365 kbps (45.6KB.sec transfer rate) This is a Time Warner cable connection,
How would you test the speed of data transmission? Is there any way I can test how long it takes for my computer to read the data on another device through a USB cable?
How to test Ethernet card for slow speed? In the past my cable modem has provided download speeds in excess of 3000kbs. Following an obvious slow-down, I've clocked an average download/upload speed 0f only 380/420 kbs. Yes, my upload speed is faster than download! When plugged into another PC the problem is solved, DL speed on those machines show 3000kbs. System resources run 18-21% and no viruses or malware are present, so I suspect the (Dell) Ethernet card has gone bad. Does anyone know how to test for this, or should I just buy another card?
My internet d/l speed is slower than it should be, why? I have a Comcast cable connection, from the computer to the cable modem, via an ethernet cable cord, which is connected directly to the cable outlet. My speed test results are always low, it seems. Speed tests put me at like a 1mb/s download speed on good days. I don't get the commercials and stuff, saying increased speeds of like 900023mb/s and I'm stuck here with this crap. What the deal?
Time Warner Cable Internet Speed Upgrade? I have had Time Warner for my Internet for as long as I remember (and had Adelphia before that) and in the past have had some MAJOR issues with TW internet speeds sucking and going down randomly but in recent months it seems they have really fixed everything up nicely. But the other day I noticed a little bit of lag in my internet so for the hell of it I decided to run a speed test. When I started the service I was getting 4mb download on both wired and wireless connections. Then I upgraded to their Turbo speed and was getting 14mb download and still 4mb wireless download with about 1.5mb upload. Then...then the other day I ran a speed test and found that I am now getting 25mb download on my wired connection, and 7mb download on wireless with about a 3mb upload rate. Did they upgrade their service and not tell anyone?
Why is my charter cable high-speed internet so slow.? I got high speed internet a week ago (before had dial-up). It is 10mbps. The first 2 or 3 days it was amazing, 300kb-1mbps speed when downloading. Youtube videos didn't have to buffer. Then it suddenly slowed to dial-up. Downloads only 2-8kbps. youtube videos take forever. I tried plenty of things, defragmenting, disk cleanup, hooking re-hooking up modem, and Repairng connection. i tried internet speed test and it say around 1mbps. Please help! PS: i got this internet a week ago and i live in a rural area.
AOL insists Top Speed can not be disabled. Has anyone found a way to make it happen? Download speed on my cable server with Top Speed on is approximately 2200 kps. Three other servers using the same criteria for the download are between 3500 and 6000. Top Speed failed to come on one day. I quickly did a speed test and got 4750 download speed. So Top Speed, which creates its own cache during surfing is slowing the download process considerably.
Internet slow over WiFi, despite fast connection speed...??? I just got high-speed comcast cable internet and hooked up a cheap belkin wireless-g router to it. The setup wizard ran into a problem at some poitn when trying to configure the router and gave me the error "The set could not be created". I could not find a description of the error or continue. I did the rest of the setup manually, and everything is working, except I have one peculiar problem: the internet is extremely slow. I know my connection speed is fast because I can download at high speeds, and speed tests show my speed at very good cable speeds, but web pages load at dial-up paces. When I plug in directly to the router, web pages load in a flash. I'm sure there's some setting I just need to change to make wireless web access full-speed again, but I'm not sure what. Anyone have any ideas?

Is 500 kbps an abnormally low connection speed for a cable modem? For the past few weeks, my Internet connection speed has been really slowing down between 8pm and 11pm. I'm on a cable modem in an apartment complex, so my guess is that traffic is just picking up during those hours and slowing things down. I've been running some of those free "speed tests" on various sites and it's consistently coming in between 400 and 500 kbps during peak hours, sometimes as low as 300 kbps. During off-peak hours, I'm easily getting 1.5k - 2k. My complex has had the same service for about a year-and-a-half now and this is the first time it's been a problem. It's my understanding that cable will slow down if you pile too many users onto it, but such a dramatic swing in performance seems crazy to me. I'm pretty cautious about viruses and spyware; stay behind a firewall and keep my AV software up to date. I can't say with certainty that I don't have some virus that is causing the slowdown, but I doubt it, especially since the slowdowns always occur within such a regular timeframe. So, my first question is: Is this normal, especially considering that it wasn't a problem for 18 months and now it is. Second, if it's not normal, what are the likely causes? Third, assuming the problem is on my providers end and not mine, is there anything that can be done to correct the problem short of stringing more lines up to my building?
Would a 20m ethernet cable reduce internet speed? Hi, I've just bought a 20m ethernet cable from ebay. I've tested it on my brothers pc but i have to wait for mine to return from the engineers. It seems to work fine but i was worried that a 20m cable would drastically reduce the connection speed. Is that the case? Thanks

what speeds would this ethernet cable give me? i currently have a 12mbps high speed etherner connection and every speed test i run confirms that but my cables give me a max at about 600kbps if not less sometimes i hit a good 700kbps but rarely its real fast but i just want faster so what cable speed would this give me? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dynex®+-+3'+Cat+6+Network+Cable+-+Gray/5688874.p?id=1055389307147&skuId=5688874&st=ethernet%20cable&cp=1&lp=2 i have pretty outdated cables and theyre pretty long would a shorter cable give me a better result? i have a 30 foot cable going to my living room and i max at 612kbps there and my new computer is like 4 inches aaway from the roputer but it has a 12 foot cable does that affect it? help plz :]
Speed test for ESATA external hard drive? How can I test my new eSATA external hard drive's download speed ? I understand that connecting an external hard drive to an eSATA port is up to 3GBs compared to a USB at 400MBs...right ? So, I just installed a eSATA card in my PC and connected my Seagate external hard drive to it with 6ft external eSATA cable. I ran a back-up and did not seem to be any faster than doing the back-up using the USB connection. So, is there a way to test the speed of my eSATA ? My Operating System is Vista Home Premium cetus35 answered, thank you, but the link you provided does not work for windows Vista (home premium).
How can i test my Browsing speed..? Many are saying that they are providing 512Kbps for so and so cable connection.Does 512 means the Browsing speed or download speed.. Is there any site to check the Browsing speed...(But not download speed)..?
Internet Connection help - speed test Hey there, for the past year or so i have been with tiscali, i am a complete beginner on computers really and I am not impressed with them at all. I download music everyday, and i also download torrents. But my internet connection is absolutely appauling with tiscali at some parts of the day, I know they traffic the connections, although sometimes my internet will not work at all. Its 23:57, and i have just took a speed test, Download Speed :1299Kb/s Upload speed:177Kb/s Ping: 151 Please could you suggest what could be wrong? I am using a d-link wireless router, but i am using the WLAN blue cable to connect to my internet because my wireless dongle broke. My internet is supposedly a 2mb connection. Thankyou ever so much for your time, tom. Ping by the way, it seems as if the internet is always disconnecting, because when i am on frostwire(downloading software) the connections disconnect after a few minutes, also the lights on the wireless router are flashing constantly.
Internet speed test results are very low, or is this normal? Just wanted to get someones take on this-- I ran a speed test at speedtest.net from my laptop which has an internal wireless card. Came back at 1.29 Mb/s dl .60 upload. I was thinking that this is pretty low so I plugged my laptop in directly to the router and it came back at 20.61 Mb/s dl and .96 upload. I have road runner cable, a newer modem from them, and my laptop normally sits about 3 feet from the router. Router is a linksys BEFW11S4. Also my laptop is a brand new Lenovo T500. Is it normal to have this big of a difference between the two or is something wrong? Lemme know what ya guys think.
Broadband speed limit / Router & ethernet cable query? Hi. Got a Virgin modem.. which swapped for the old NTL modem as it was running at speeds of less than 1 meg a second at my broadband speed limit of 10mb/s. So installed and activated new Virgin Modem box. Speed tests show its now going at 8.5mb/s on my PC. Which is great. My PC is not wireless and is main hub to the network I have. Connects through the Ethernet cable via the Router connection, if it makes sense. It says 100mbps on network connections. The strange thing is, my PS3 was running at 12mb/s on wireless. My router is normal.I think it's a G... it's 108mbps instead of 100.. does that make the difference? It's running faster than the 10meg speed limit. So, is this normal for router connections to go faster than the broadband speed limits? sure enough, it has slowed down a bit.. atleast the d/w speed. Also, maybe the speed test site was unreilable.
Is it possible for my Internet speed to be over 30,000 kbps? Idk if it's possible, but I just done a speakeasy speed test and it just said that it was over 30,000 kbps. Is that considered fast for Comcast cable?
Can an internet provider fake a high speed on a speed test? I live in a rural area where there is no cable or DSL. I have slow expensive wireless service through TWN. Pages download very slowly. When I watch a YouTube or news video it spends more time buffering than playing . But when I run a speed test such as Speakeasy I get speeds from 770 to 990 kbps. Can an isp detect speed tests and increase bandwidth just for the test? When I first signed up with TWN the speed was much faster. YouTube or other videos will play for a few seconds, then stop and buffer for about twice as long, then play for a few more seconds. Kind of like on dial-up.
why does my cable internet download so slow? i tested my cable internet speed on speakeasy.com and im getting 14+mbps download speed. so why is it that when i download files, the max ive ever gotten was 1.5mbps. i usually get around 700kbps. even less on limewire, sometimes down to 5kbps or so.
Whats the speed of your internet (Speed testing link included) ? Just wondering, for people around the world, please state your country and isp and dialup/adsl/cable type if you can, (eg, australia, optus, ADSL).. and let us know the speed that you get... Why is one pc on my network get a higher speed test result than others? I have about 6 pc's on my home wired network. I run a cable modem to a router. From the router, I have some connections going direct to pc's and some flowing through a central 100mb switch, and then through 100mb switches again at the physical location of the machines. On one PC, running Speakeasy.net's speed test, I get a blazing 28mb download speed. On other pc's I may get 5mb or 6mb and others I might even get as bad as say 2mb. Other than the physical wire itself possibly causing an issue, what would make this big of a difference? Is there something wrong with the way I have switches hooked up? I don't see any collision blinking on the main switch. All the PCs are running XP 32bit and all PCs have 100mbs network cards on them and Windows reports they are operating at 100mbs. Network utilization for the fast computer gets up to about 40% while the rest all stay abot 1-3%. Also, all PCs are roughly comparable in speed and memory configuration.

BROADBAND CABLE SPEEDS, how do I work them out ACCURATELY? Is the a definative accurate Speed measurement test, all these speed test sites throw me a different up & down speed on each use even within seconds of using them - so are they erratic or is my cable connection CR*P. I PAY!!! for a rumoured upto 4meg connection through Virgin/NTL but each speed site I goto gives me a completely different result EACH and every time. I close my antivirus/spware & firewall - NO P2P running!!! I get a slight increase. I phone Virgin & get told they will reset my modem run some or other script & modify my MAC address - how is that possible?..I then get an increase in speed for about 5hours my download goes upto +- 3.364KB/s & an up of 371, bu suprise suprise everything just reurns to "normal" and I am back at DOWN of 1.264KB/s withing few hours. If I download a 120.6mg file it on average will take over 60 minutes - this cant be right for a rumoured upto 4meg connection - can it? & this is the speed at ANY time of day not only during peaks. This is my latest speed test as st 17:43pm today 1662 kbps down (~1.66 Mbps, 203 KB/s) ↓ 328 kbps up (~0.33 Mbps, 40 KB/s) ↑ using SPEEDGUIDE.net And http://www.broadbandchoices.co.uk says my speed is 2.95....And immediately after the broadbandchoices test speedguide.net again gives 1349 kbps down (~1.35 Mbps, 165 KB/s) ↓ 291 kbps up (~0.29 Mbps, 35 KB/s) ↑ NOWHERE Near the paid for upto 4meg Thanks linux, but its a direct cable modem connection, no router involved - its a cr*ppy modem provided by my ISP - number 4 to be exact since October last year. RIGHT at the BEGINING OF THE QUESTION I asked: "Is the a definative accurate Speed measurement test" I put all the other waffle in to give an idea of what I am dealing with & getting on a DAILY connection not peak periods etc but ALL the time. JUST answer the question, dont give me stuff I allready know about times of day & theoretical speeds & throttling etc the multply by 8 / divide by 8 rule does not seem that accurate with a cable connection http://www.virginmedia.com/help/traffic-management.php
What is my internet connection speed? I need to which of the following it is: Modem - 14.4K Modem - 28.8K Modem - 33.6K Modem - 56K ISDN - 112K DSL greater than 256K LAN/T1 greater than 1M I took an internet speed test and I got a download speed of 8.87 Mb/s, an upload speed of 1.21 Mb/s and a PING of 42 ms. I have Comcast cable internet provider.
I have Bigpond Cable broadband. It tests at 1.91Mbps download speed but pages open very slowly. Any ideas? It has been reasonably good for a long time (several years) but lately no good. Is something dying?
Is this a good speed for an internet provider? Download speed- 0.14Mb/s Upload Speed- 0.07Mb/s I tested it on speedtest.net and it said it was isp average. (Please let me know what would be typical dsl speed, and typical cable speed or other) i am thinking of getting Directv's internet by WildeBlue sattellite internet with a speed of 1.5 Mbps is this faster than mine? And by how much? Thanxx alot for your help!
Why am I getting high ping on high speed cable? I've been playing a specific online fps game now for a month and I generally have a ping between 20-150ms in the games I join. Even last night, it was perfectly fine, but when I woke up, I began getting a ping of 1500+. I tested my ping speed on http://www.speedtest.net/ several times and I am getting results of 2500ms and higher. I am currently connected through Road Runner high speed internet (Time Warner Cable) which gets fairly good speeds of 2.0 Mbps. Does anyone have any idea why this suddenly began happening? It inhibits me from playing online games at all. By the way, the game is WolfTeam. http://wolfteam.aeriagames.com/ Any help would be appreciated. I unplugged my modem and wireless router for 10 seconds and plugged them back in. After doing so, I re-connected and tested my ping at http://www.pingtest.net/ (same creators as speedtest.net). It began at 180ms or so and increased to 1000ms by the end of the test. After about an hour, I was getting the same results as before, up above 2500ms, and somtimes up to 3500ms.
Is there a difference in speed between cable 3.0 mbps and DSL 3.0 mbps? I have cable at my house, tested as 1.5 mbps, using a speed checker online. When I play game online, everything is fine. But, at my apartment, I have DSL, tested as 3.0 mbps, which is supposedly faster....But, I can't play the same multiplayer game that I play at my house. The character disappears and reappear, even though the ping is fine...(maybe a little higher (slower)) i can't really figure out the cause...I didn't change anything on my computer as I switch (not firewall I guess) Need advice from experts
Can I test my friend's modem on my PC and cable connection? I currently have high speed internet with an ancient RCA modem (maybe 4 years old). My neighbor has a motorolla surfboard. Is this motorolla surfboard modem a plug and play type or do i have to call ISP, give them ID numbers, etc for connection? What a hassle.
Why do all my speed tests fail to show upload speeds? Had the cable company check my connection because of low speeds, they found the prob to be on their end but in the process, they did something to my modem that screwed it up and wont allow connections to some sites. Anyone know of a modem setup utility for a dlink dcm 201 modem?
Is this slow for 3Mb cable internet? Ok I have a computer with a supposively 3mb cable internet, but it showed on a speed test that my download speed is like 185kbps and my upload is 108kbps. Is that how it's supposed to be? thanks!

Cable Modem Speeds? I have a cable modem service for my internet and I pay for a 10 Mb service. The problem is, when doing speed tests I find that I get anything between 1.3 and 7.0 Mb. I thought contention was only n ADSL issue-am I mistaken?
Explanation of online "internet speed test"? The results indicated my upload and download time were fast enough for VOIP, which is good. However the quality of service was low, meaning the download paused and was choppy. How to I fix this problem. Is it my Internet provider my cables?

Cable Internet connection dropping? I've had the cable company out twice in a week to test my internet that is dropping, and both techs have said they see no issue with the signal. It's been suggested that the NIC on my 5 week old Dell Studio is bad. However, tonight I ran some speed tests on the cable company's site, and speeds on my 10Mbps service were as follows: 9.9 Mbps 8:58pm 2Mbps 8:59pm 0Mbps 9:00pm 10.1Mbps 9:01pm 0Mbps 9:07pm 267kbps 9:12pm 9.7Mbps 9:13pm Is there ANY chance this is a PC issue, or is there most likely an amp out of whack somewhere? I want to note the modem in my DVR is doing the same thing but not causing any problems for it. Also, powercycling (unplugging the modem from power for about 10 secs) restores service for about 20 minutes, then the drops start up again. I am not using a network of any kind (modem is connected straight into PC with Ethernet.) Thanks in advance for your thoughts!!! Forgot to add that modem has already been swapped, and rx is ranging from up to 6.8 in the wee morning hours )1-2am then sharply drops from 2.0 to 0 by early morning (9am-ish) and starts creeping up throughout the day; no packet loss.

Is there a web site that lists actual Internet speed from various providers by location / zip code? I'm about to move and I would like to know if I should change my DSL service to a cable ISP. There are so many sites where you can test you internet connection speed, it seems like there should be one that publishes this info with location and provider. My new zip will be 23507.
explain something about internet speed to me? ok so i did a speed test and found out my cable connection is at about 4,000 kb/s ok, so then why when i click on a file to download, the highest i ever get is 500 kb/s? if my connection is 4,000, shouldn't i be able to download at 4,000? does it just depend where i'm downloading from? if i'm only able to download 500 kb/s, what good does that other 3,500 kb/s do me? no need to be rude! this s*it can be quite confusing. i see now.. i didn't know about kilobits vs. kilobytes crazy stuff

computer speed? my computer which ive had since 2004 is now starting to go at a snails pace. 1: 40 gb hard drive 2: 56k 3: e machine with intel 4: comcast cable for broadband speed with the comcast broadband it use to be super fast, now i find it takes 45-60 seconds to go to another window. i have also been hearing the fan motor switch on when im switching windows. i did the speed test to check if my ISP was the problem, but the speed test was within normal limits. ive deleted all temp files and cookies and password settings. ive tried to clean up the hard drive, however i wouldnt touch anything that i wasnt familiar with, just games and such. so how can i speed this thing up.
Is it possible to get Gigabit speed across a Category 5 (cat5) cable? I have several "3Com Baseline Switch 2226 Plus" switches. These have Gigabit uplink ports. I've patched them with Cat6, and get the Gigabit speed light (green) on these ports. However, I have a long cable run with an existing Cat5 that's not been replaced. My assumption was that I would need to pull a Cat6 here, however, the Gigabit uplink ports on the 3Com's on each end of this Cat5 cable show the green Gigabit connection. Is it possible that I am, in fact, getting that speed, or is it likely that the green light is meaningless? How can I easily test this to check the speed of this uplink? Thanks! kern504

why does my internet speed slow down and stop than speeds up again? when i download files, music, video, anything, it will download at high speeds, like 500 kb/s, than it will slow down to a few kb/s and completely stop and i will loose internet connection for a while than it will restart and do the same thing over and over. what can i do to prevent that from happening? i have cable, when i run speed tests, the download bandwith is about 12000 kb/s and uploading is 1200 kb/s. any suggestions? actually, i fugured out the problem. its the wireless router. i hard wired it right to the modem and it downloads 600 kb/s non stop all they long. thanks for the answers!
VOIP causes connection speed to drop? I subscribe to Earthlink's true voice service, which is a VOIP telephone line. I use roadrunner cable for my high speed internet connection. When I connect from my modem straight into the PC, my connection is 100Mbps, however, when I put the voice adapter inline, my connection drops to 10Mbps...Is this normal? The adapter is a linksys analog telephone adaptor which was provided by Earthlink. Both of the cables that I use to connect are high speed cables, and I have tested both of them independantly of the voice adapter.
What's going on with my cable? I have cable internet (comcast) and, of course, it advertises those blazing hot speeds of up to 8mbs download speed. But it seems to me it's been running subpar for quite awhile. So I started accessing some those speed tests, such as speedtest.net etc. The results vary some from test to test but the fastest download I ever tested at was about 3mbs and most tests indicated about 1.5mbs. I've got avast anti-virus and have run ad-aware and spybot search and destroy. Anybody have any ideas why I'm basically getting DSL speed on a cable connection? Is my Internet Speed good? I just moved to a new location and got road runner from time warner cable as my internet service provider. i just took an internet speed test at speedtest.net and used kansas city, missouri as my server (as this is closest to me) and it said my download speed was 6639 kb/s and my upload speed was 482 kb/s. are these good speeds compared to others? and should there be that much of a difference between the download and upload speeds?
Why is my upload speed SO much slower than my download speed? My ISP is a cable company called Knology. On their site they offer a connection speed test. I performed it and it said my download speed was 6,487 kbps and my upload speed was 366 kbps. I was curious to see if anyone knew if this huge disparity would be affecting how fast internet games run for me and if so, if there's anything I can do about it.
How can I tell what speed my SATA cables run at.? I've had more than a couple of motherboards in the last few years, and as a result of that I'm left with quite a few extra SATA cables lying around. I have two SATA II/3Gb hard drives both with the higher speed enabled and on a SATA II/3Gb mobo. However having had a few motherboards only capable of supporting the SATA 1.5Gb speeds I am unsure if all my cables are the same speed capable or not. So are there any ways of testing speed capabilities of the cables short of plugging in all of them and timing with a stop watch on a variety of files? Or do they all transfer at SATA II/3Gb speeds?
What is your Optimum Online speed test result? Optimum Online advertised it to be 15Mbps download and 2Mbps upload speeds. But I always get about 3Mbps download and 2Mbps upload. I did tested it with ethernet cable and overpass my wireless router. My neighborhood is in Brooklyn, New York. What is your speed test results? Please share your test speed results from http://speedtest.net/
Computer upload speed is very slow-NOT a cable or connection problem, it is a computer problem, help? I had two top level Comcast techs out here just now and when they hooked their laptop to my modem the speed was blazing fast but when they hooked up my computer to my modem the upload speed is super slow. Download speed is fine. I have cable, the premium service, and it is very fast coming out of the cable. The problem is in my computer. Yes I have defragmented, this is not the problem. I ran diagnostic tests of my hard drive, it is fine. I have only one window open. How can I figure out what is causing my slow upload speed? Rob I did all that it does not help. Those are minor things. This is a major thing.
