8. The best one would be the closest with the least amount of hops, I would contact your ISP and ask which site they use to test/troubleshoot speed issues. Going further away would give you lower results.

10. In my opinion and from experience a given website will not give you the exact speed because speed depends on a number of factors. I always suggest to try different tests and then the average of all those tests should give you a very close approximation to your speed. the websites I suggest are www.testmy.net www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ www.dslreports.com/speedtest As a side note, remember that internet connections are measured in megabits which is not the same as megabytes (8bits ~ 1 byte).
