Internet Cable Speed

Does my broadband plan speed and internet test speed mean anything?

My broadband plan is 8Mbps but when I use an online speed tester, the d/l speed doesn't even get near there. Infact, its still below 3Mbps. So if I change to a 3Mbps plan, will it reduce my speed, or will I still be fuctioning at the same speed as my 8Mbps plan since the test showed that the speed is below 3Mbps?

  1. If it were me Id call my provider and explain the problem to them they may have to come to your home to fix the problem.
  2. usually there's many reason that it shows false activity of your internet but actually 8Mbps is maximum speed is 300+kpbs try it at speedtest.net also depend on area that you choose to reach that connection other sigh is when you download something like 10MB or more at same website or source of the file using Download manager it shows your maximum speed of 30+kbs' that should be maximum speed of every standard broadband internet near asia try download something on download.com to test that speed if you get the result that mean your internet speed was fine otherwise if your internet area may weak to connect on server or you have some Trojan Virus that fills and block up your bandwidth to make internet traffic you should don't ignore Trojan Virus if your a broadband user
