How can I test my new eSATA external hard drive's download speed ? I understand that connecting an external hard drive to an eSATA port is up to 3GBs compared to a USB at 400MBs...right ? So, I just installed a eSATA card in my PC and connected my Seagate external hard drive to it with 6ft external eSATA cable. I ran a back-up and did not seem to be any faster than doing the back-up using the USB connection. So, is there a way to test the speed of my eSATA ? My Operating System is Vista Home Premium cetus35 answered, thank you, but the link you provided does not work for windows Vista (home premium).
