Broadband speed?
We have orange broadband, we are paying for 8mb but are only getting just about 1 at the moment its about 600kb! we live within a mile of a telephone excahange. why are we paying for 8 mb broadband and not even getting 1mb? do they cap the broadband speed if they do is that not misleading customers? no it is definatley 8 mgb because i did a speed test that came up with 1 mgb before and my friend gets 10 meg and he lives quite close

- You should check your computer for viruses or spyware. Do take note that broadband you are paying for is not 8 megabytes per second,it is 8 megabits per second. 8 megabits per second = About 800 kilobytes per second. A lot of people have this misconception between megabytes and megabits.
- Could be a phone line issue. Maybe your modem is defective or a setting is not right or a filter is bad. Connect tech support for help or ask for a new modem. - HI james, There are two things u need to clarify regarding ur broadband connection. One is speed and other is allowed downloaded data..... Speed is what ur concerned right now... An 8Mbps line obviously means a capacity of 8Mb of data transferrable per second. This includes both Inbound and outbound. When data is concerned, Ur are allowed to download only the amount of data specified.
